Rules of Play
& Admission
Seal's Cove
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for all guests, please follow the Rules of Play below when using the facilities at Seal’s Cove.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children in their care follow these rules.
Supervision
-
Children must always be supervised by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
-
We require a minimum ratio of 1 adult for every 5 children.
-
Staff are present in the facilities and have access to first aid equipment, however staff are not provided to supervise children.
-
Parents or guardians remain responsible for the control, care and safety of the children in their care at all times.
-
Those supervising children must not leave the centre without the children in their care.
Soft Play
Access
-
Maximum height for soft play is 1.55m
-
Maximum age is 12 years
These restrictions are in place for the safety of all children.
Children must remove their shoes before entering the play equipment.
Personal Items to remove before play
Children must remove:
-
jewellery
-
money
-
sharp or loose objects
-
badges
-
Spectacles should be removed unless they are shatterproof.
Big Wave Drop Slide Rules
-
You must be aged 5 years or over to use the slide.
-
No bare skin, tights, nylon clothing, crop tops, dresses or tiny shorts.
-
Do not play at the bottom of the slide.
-
Do not climb up the slide.
When going down the slide:
-
Arms crossed holding shoulders
-
Legs together
-
No claw clips to be worn
Once you reach the bottom you must leave the landing area immediately.
The slide is not open for the entire session. It will open in two half-hour intervals, subject to staff availability.
Age Restricted Areas
-
Our Under 2s area is strictly for children aged 2 years and under.
-
Our Toddler area is strictly for children aged 3 years and under.
-
Children under 3 may use the main play area but should be closely supervised by a parent or guardian.
-
The Big Wave Drop Slide has a minimum age of 5 years.
Jurassic Ridge Climbing Centre
Admission
For climbing sessions:
-
Please arrive 10 minutes before your session start time.
-
A waiver form must be completed before climbing.
-
Only participating visitors may enter the climbing wall area.
-
Visitors under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry without a refund.
-
Photography of your own group is permitted, but please avoid photographing other visitors.
Climbing Equipment & Clothing

Climbing shoes or sensible trainers are required on the wall. Climbing shoes can be hired.
-
We will not allow climbing to take place in unsuitable footwear such as crocs, flip flop or sliders.
-
Equipment and shoe hire are included in instructed sessions (subject to availability).
-
Powdered and liquid chalk is permitted and available to purchase.
-
Jewellery should be removed before climbing where possible.
-
Long hair must to tied back.
-
Clothing with hoods, toggles or cords should not be worn or must be tucked in.
-
Lockers are provided for guest use.
Experienced climbers bringing their own equipment must have it checked by a member of our climbing team before use.
Climbing Participation Statements
ABC Participation Statement
All climbing activities have a risk of serious injury or death. Participants must recognise that even if they follow good practice, there may still be risk of accident or injury. It is the responsibility of participants to adhere to the conditions of use.
BMC Participation Statement
The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
Personal Property
Seal’s Cove accepts no liability for lost, damaged or stolen property.
Lockers are available for guests to store valuables.
Found items will be donated, recycled or disposed of if not collected within 14 days.
Food, Drink & Smoking

No food, drink, sweets or chewing gum inside the soft play.

No vapes are permitted inside the soft play.
-
We operate a strict no smoking or vaping policy within the premises.
-
Only food and drink purchased at Seal’s Cove may be consumed on site.
-
Food or drink purchased outside Seal’s Cove may not be brought onto the premises.
-
Birthday cakes purchased outside Seal’s Cove may only be brought onto the premises as part of a party package.
Health & Illness
-
Children who are unwell or have had diarrhoea or vomiting within the last 48 hours should not play.
-
If your child becomes unwell during your visit they should stop using the play equipment immediately.

If you or any of your group are experiencing COVID symptoms, please contact us to rearrange your visit.
Accidents & First Aid
In the event of an accident please contact a member of our team.
A qualified first aider will record the accident in our accident book and may provide first aid treatment where appropriate.
Photography
Visitors are welcome to take photographs of their children.
When doing so we ask that you only photograph children within your own group.
Amendments
Seal’s Cove reserves the right to amend these Rules of Play and Admission policies at any time without notice.
