Accessibility
Accessibility introduction
Seal’s Cove aims to be a place where everyone is welcome and able to participate, regardless of ability.
While we do our best to make the venue accessible, some areas of the building and activities may not be suitable for all guests to use independently.
We hope the information below helps you plan your visit and choose the most suitable activities for your needs.
If you have specific accessibility requirements or would like to discuss your visit in advance, please contact our team and we will be happy to help.
Arrival & Parking
Parking at Seal’s Cove is free of charge, however spaces are limited. Please use the allocated parking areas and park respectfully to neighbouring businesses if our car park is full.
-
Accessible parking spaces are available at the front of the building
-
There is level tarmac access from the parking area to the main entrance
-
During busy periods we may open seasonal overflow parking on a grass paddock with runner matting
-
Seal’s Cove can also be accessed via the pedestrian route running from West Bay along the river
Toilets & Public Facilities
Washrooms are located on both the ground floor and first floor and include:
-
Male toilets
-
Female toilets
-
An Accessible toilet
The accessible washroom includes:
-
Grab rails
-
Hand-washing facilities designed for limited mobility
-
Twin toilets suitable for both adult and child use
-
Baby changing facilities
Doors are side-hinged for ease of access.
Soft Play
Children using the soft play must always be supervised by a responsible adult.
It is the responsibility of supervising adults to determine whether the equipment is suitable for the needs and capabilities of the children in their care.
Please note:
-
Some play equipment requires climbing, crawling and sliding
-
Arms and legs should be covered when using slides to help reduce the likelihood of friction burns
Jurassic Ridge Climbing
Climbing at Jurassic Ridge requires a level of physical fitness, however we offer a variety of routes ranging from starter level through to advanced climbing walls.
Our instructors are trained to work with climbers of different abilities.
If you are unsure whether a session will be suitable, we recommend:
-
booking a quieter session where possible, or
-
contacting our team before booking so we can advise you on the most suitable session.
Our auto-belay climbing routes are designed to encourage independent climbing. The automatic belay device takes up the slack as you climb and will safely lower the climber back to the ground once they reach the top or let go.
Building Access
Some areas of the building require stair access.
The Crow’s Nest Room is located upstairs and currently does not have lift access, so guests will need to be comfortable using stairs to access this area.
Additional Information
-
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome
-
Seal’s Cove operates a strict no smoking or vaping policy within the building and grounds (except in Viking Village's designated area)
-
Fire points are clearly labelled throughout the venue
-
A refuge area is available for first floor evacuation

At least one member of staff trained in first aid is always present on site
-
All staff hold relevant qualifications and undertake site-specific training
Sensory & Quieter Visits
Seal’s Cove can be a lively and busy environment, particularly during weekends, holidays and peak times. Lighting, sounds and activity levels may vary across the venue, especially within the soft play and climbing areas.
If you or someone in your group would benefit from a quieter environment, we recommend visiting during off-peak sessions where possible.
Our team will always do their best to support guests with additional needs. If you would like to discuss your visit in advance or need assistance during your visit, please speak to a member of staff.
